I fear that due to having a rather large Friday deadline and a rather pleasent evening planned tonight that I'll probably still be in the office by the time most of Gamesoc has gone to the pub tomorrow. Sorry guys.

Once again I pimp at you all the Student Nationals
. This year in Edinburgh on the 30th March 2007 - 1st April 2007.
No details on the money as of yet but a good rule of thumb is £15 entry + £50ish for accomdation (depending on venue, £50 is usually the maximum) + Transport costs (+ personal food, beer and gaming stall costs).
This year they have an Art competition
with free entry and accomodation on offer for winners.

Just a seasonal reminder to peeps joining via Livejournal, we do have a ULU gamesoc website http://www.gamesoc.co.uk
It also has forums set up and waiting for members to use it.
(Edith, are you still webmastering it and have you let the new gamesoc persons know about it/given them mod status?)

Y halo dar
Name: Helen Doherty
Place of Study: SOAS
Subject: BA History
Year of Graduation: 2008
Gaming Preferences: I don't really have a genre I like best... I just tend to follow series. I like Sonic, Shenmue, Zelda, Mario, the Sims, Final Fantasy, Katamari
Thoughts on D20 : whats D20?
I wanted to join this society last year, but sadly missed the ULU Freshers Fair, and couldn't find information on this group on the ULU website.
Myself and a couple of friends did had our own little SOAS-based society for RPG video game fans (called Phoenix Down, lol). We even managed to go on a trip to the London Expo ^_^
I hope to meet other like-minded people for chat, and maybe the occasional DS meet-up. I'm a massive Animal Crossing : Wild World fan ^^

Looks like we have rooms for the next two months people. Also that ULU need to update their contact information.

Due to the Easter Shutdown of the ULU building there will be no sessions this Sunday (16th) or next Wednesday (19th).
We are still working on futher bookings as the ULU automated bookings system is currently down.

Since this is my first post here I thought I should introduce myself.
Name: Alex, Gamesoc Secretary 2003-2005
Place of Study: Formerly the London School of Economics.
Subject: Economics. Though I did a little philosophy and game theory. Those were cool classes.
Year of Graduation: 2005. So, you won't be seeing me around meetings much.
Gaming Preferences: I like a bit of the RP, and a bit of the G.
My primary focus is on Dungeons and Dragons and the Eberron line, but I've enjoyed Call of Cthulu, the new serenity RPG and a few really enjoyable homebrew systems. I'm also majorly keen on card and board games. Mainly Munchkin, Chez Geek, Grave Robbers from Outer Space and a bit of Settlers of Catan.
Thoughts on D20: I like D&D a lot, but I think the application of it's rules set as some sort of universal system is probably unworkable.
I haven't had a chance to play any d20 game aside from D&D yet, though I'd be willing to give it a shot.
Anyway, the main point of this post:
Is anyone else going to Dragonmeet
this year? It's basically a gaming and roleplaying convention in Kensington on Saturday the 3rd of December.
I've gone a couple of times and it was major fun.
Plus it'll be a good way to meet up with the old members.
So, anyone interested? Current Mood: dorky

22 correctly filled in forms to ULU. (1 associate)
4 failed to correctly fill-in forms. Including our ex-president's
It was noted that we have a large Heythrop contingent. All I can say is that that if I find out anyone put down a dodgy ULU card number, there will be hell to pay.
I now have a form specially for associates. Membership registration will continue throughout the year.

Well, I just set up a Google Adwords account for GameSoc. We were given £25 free advertising with the website, it's a one-off and I have no intention of supplementing it.
If you spot an ad, do me a favour and don't click it. I've budgeted to blow the entire budget in about a week, and we're estimated at something like 80 clicks a day, depending on the ad. It leads directly to www.GameSoc.co.uk, which you should be familiar with anyways.
Let me know if you spot an ad though, I wasn't overly careful with the keywords so it'll be interesting to see where they show up.x-posted to london_gamers
